Hello Guys! I was kind of unsure of what to post today, but then I remember seeing a booktube video of Christine from Polandbananasbook do the Top 10 Authors I Still Need to Read and I was really interested in doing this, so here goes, in no particular order, a shortened version!
As you may know, J.R.R. Tolkien wrote the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and the Hobbit. I did watch the Lord of the Rings as a kid but ask me about it know and you’ll know I’ve forgotten everything. I really want to read this series or the Hobbit, and then watch the movies.
2. C.S. Lewis
C.S. Lewis makes me feel nostalgic in a way I can’t even understand, especially since I haven’t even read any of his books. He wrote the Chronicles of Narnia, and I just really want to read it. Every time I see one of his quotes, I just think they’re so beautiful. Especially the dedication in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. I’ll definitely got to this soon.
Why? Just why? She is said to write amazing contemporary romance novels, I own all three of the books in her companion series, and I’ve heard nothing but great things about her writing. I’ll definitely get to at least one of her novels before the end of the year. I hope. This needs to be done
Brandon. Sanderson. The writer that everyone calls the king of fantasy. I mean, his books obviously need to be good for that title. I have a friend who basically hates reading but read the entire Mistborn trilogy in a week. That say A LOT about this trilogy then. I’m going to start with he Mistborn trilogy hopefully soon, and then we’ll see where it goes!
5. Stephen King
If Brandon Sanderson is the king of Fantasy, then Stephen King is the King (see what I did there?) of Horror, and that is probably why I haven’t read any of his books, because I’m a coward. The Shining is probably one of his most popular ones, but I think I’ll try The Green Mile because I love that movie, Under the Dome or 11/22 1963. I mean, I know I’ll be freaked out by whichever I read but I NEED to read one of his fiction books.

This is a great post! 🙂 I might have to join you on this one but I do have C.S. Lewis and Brandon Sanderson on there as well. AND of course I have NOT read any King cause I am a Chicken too! I do own Under the Dome and think that might be my first King!

Yes, do! I love the Narnia films, so I really need to get to those books. And they’re so short! Have you heard about his book… I think it was called Pet Sematary. It was apparently too scary and he didn’t want to publish it. Can you imagine? I just find that to be crazy!!
We could buddy read Under the Dome!! 🙂

Hey! Late to the party, but I am a HUGE Stephen King fan. For a first timer who is not that fond of scary books, I would NOT recommend The Shining! The books you listed are perfect for you. The Green Mile, Under the Dome, and 11/22/63 are NOT scary. They can get a little action-y, but not in a horrific way. Here’s my advice: I’d start with The Green Mile. You’re familiar with the premise and it’s pretty short. Under the Dome and 11/22/63 are HUGE books. Get familiar with King’s writing style before tackling those. If you have any King-questions, I’m your girl!

OMG thank you! This is all great advice. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to read The Shining, to be honest, but I’m so interested in those I mentioned, I’ll definitely try those! Thank you for everything!! 🙂
